Microsoft Nvme Driver Windows 10
I am trying to install windows 10 onto a Samsung 960 Evo M,2 NVMe drive. The drive is recognised in the bios as a UEFI device, i am using a USB bootable Windows 10 setup dongle, which boots fine but when it gets to where to install i get a message saying there is a missing driver. Having googled for the last couple of hours and got no where im wondering if anyone else has had the same issue, and if a resolution has been found. I have spoken to a technician as ASUS (MB Manufacturer) and they said quote 'you don't install drivers until the OS is installed'.
Microsoft Standard NVM Express Driver (stornvme) Service Defaults in Windows 10. Microsoft NVM Express Storport Miniport Driver by Microsoft Corporation. Windows 10 refuses Intel NVMe SSD driver. In Drivers and Hardware Just installed an Intel NVMe SSD 400gig on my Asus Z97-deluxe with latest bios. All went OK but just one problem.

Samsung were slightly more helpful in that he said there was a specific procedure but no driver, and was going to send me a guide. 7 hours later and im still waiting. Smac 2.0 registration id. There is a driver for NVMe drive on Samsungs site but it is a EXE setup for when windows is installed. This is no good for during setup. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks for the advice. I have done some more research and found that you can use NVME drives to boot on Skylake or later Processors, mine is a 6950x 'Broadwell'. Have done Bios Upgrade, despite the ASUS tech telling me that i had the latest one!!

I had created the bootable WIndows 10 dongle only last week using the Microsoft creator. I made a different one following the instructions at using the RUFUS program and a ISO of Windows Setup. All seems well now. Can see and use the M.2 Drive.
